Oregon EV incentives in 2026

Oregon rebates depend entirely on timing. The purchase or lease date has to fall inside an open program window, or the vehicle is not eligible at all. This page is educational, not tax or legal advice. Verify every program directly with the issuing agency, your utility, and the automaker before you place an order.

Oregon programs and current status

  • Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program (OCVRP) standard rebate

    Limited or funding-dependent

DEQ reopened the program on August 25, 2026 and it runs through November 4, 2026, with rebates suspended as of November 5, 2026. Vehicles purchased or leased while the program was suspended are not eligible. Applicants may be placed on a waitlist, so confirm the current window before you order.

Oregon DEQ: Clean Vehicle Rebate Program

  • Charge Ahead Rebate (income-qualified tier)

    Limited or funding-dependent

The income-qualified tier of OCVRP offers a larger rebate to eligible low- and moderate-income households and can be combined with the standard rebate on a qualifying vehicle. It follows the same open and closed windows as OCVRP.

    Oregon DEQ: Charge Ahead requirements

  • Rebate eligibility guidelines

    Verify current status

Rebates are applied for after purchase or lease, not at the point of sale, and there are vehicle price caps plus strict application deadlines measured from the delivery date. Read the eligibility guidelines before configuring an expensive trim.

Statuses reflect the last review date shown above. Funding rounds open and close without much notice, so confirm before you order.

Federal context (2026)

The federal Clean Vehicle Credit for new EVs ended for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025, so a new EV delivered in 2026 should not be assumed to qualify for the former $7,500 credit. The federal charger credit (Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit, Form 8911) applies only to qualifying property placed in service on or before June 30, 2026, and the residential clean energy credit for solar and battery storage (Form 5695, section 25D) ended for expenditures made after December 31, 2025. Confirm current rules with the IRS or a qualified tax professional.

Other things to check in Oregon

  • No statewide general sales tax, though a vehicle privilege tax applies to many new vehicle sales and a use tax can apply to vehicles bought out of state
  • Energy Trust of Oregon offers residential solar and battery incentives for customers of participating utilities
  • Local programs in the Portland metro area and some cities may add charger or solar support

Programs, funding, and eligibility change often. Verify with the Oregon energy office or the U.S. Department of Energy's alternative fuels data center before ordering.

  • Energy Trust of Oregon solar and heat-pump incentives for PGE and Pacific Power customers

How the Tesla referral benefit fits in

Tesla's referral benefit is separate from any state, local, or utility program. A referral link may add a Tesla-provided buyer benefit on top of anything you qualify for through Oregon agencies or your utility. Use the link before you place the order, because Tesla does not apply a referral to an order that was already submitted. Tesla controls eligibility, current benefits, and program availability, and can change or end them at any time.

Before you order in Oregon

  • • Verify every Oregon, local, and utility program with the issuing agency
  • • Confirm eligibility for your specific model, trim, and delivery date
  • • Confirm the current Tesla referral benefit and whether your chosen configuration is eligible
  • • Use the referral link before checkout, then verify the benefit shows in your Tesla account
